It is not really a difficult challenge for one to become a certified nursing assistant (CAN) because you only need a short study course offered by a certified nursing school. One of the roles of a certified nursing assistant is to work as a subordinate to a more qualified nurse. They are required to provide assistance but it will be under their jurisdiction. In some instances nursing assistants can have full authority if delegated by a senior nurse provided that the nursing assistant has sufficient skills and expertise to provide full care.

There are various situations where nursing assistants can work such as in hospitals, nursing homes and several other nursing facilities. For one to qualify as a nursing assistant he/she needs the same skills as the qualified nurse because the same level of professional attitude is required of both of them. The education and training that a nursing assistant undergoes is far less rigorous like the one that a fully qualified nurse would have to. It is also possible for one to become a nursing assistant without having to undergo an accredited nursing course but the only difference will be the payment.
